Homecoming was an annual celebration of church, family and friends. Remembering family that had passed and strengthening relationship with the congregation through food, singing and preaching.
The men of the church had built long tables in rows under the trees. Alabama is hot and the last weekend of May was a prelude to the summer to come. After plates were filled many went to the cemetery to sit under the trees and on the brick wall that marked the cemetery dimension.
